Prevent flea bites with household items?

yeah this is going to be one bad year for fleas for sure. I would think any product containing deet should repel them. If you have any off or such product in the house maybe? I have used Avon skin so soft to repel mosquitoes if you have some it couldn't hurt to see if it works on the fleas. Recommend you consider getting both the cat and dog on a regime of product like advantage or front line. The baths will kill what is on them but they will shortly come back. The advantage, frontline products are much more effective in keeping them away. I am sure you would rather not go for round 2 of this. I don't think there really is any effective ready at home remedy.
