Is 'Chicken Meal' in Dry Cat Food Real Protein/ Meat?

I'm getting a cat and I'd prefer to only feed it dry food if there's enough protein in it. I heard if real meat is the first ingredient it has a lot of protein in it. The first ingredient on the cat food I have is Chicken Meal. Is that real meat?
